Well, its that time of year again... time for the Top Ten Lists!

The first one we have for you comes from one of Winnpeg's top party rocking DJs, DJ Co op (1/2 of Co-op & Hunnicutt, 1/3 of GRIPPIN GRAIN DJs, DJ/Live Collaborator with Cadence Weapon and Pip Skid). Winnipeg’s Youth and Live Music ~ Present, Past & Beyond

Two and a half months of public submissions have yielded 1500+ pictures, posters, collections and written submissions spanning 30 years of Winnipeg's vibrant youth and music culture. On Friday November 5th, 2010, Call / Response will be hosting an event @ The Royal Albert Arms displaying the TOP FIVE submitted photographs for the public to vote for the potential cover.

Winnipeg's SubCity, High Five Drive, The Bokononists, Quagmire will be playing in support of the book. Doors open at 9pm.

SKATE4CANCER will be on tour with Silverstien and Devil Wears Prada across Canada in November & December They will be in Winnipeg on November 30th. After the concert, members of the bands and Rob Dyer will be DJing at LO Pub!

CITIES BETWEEN US currently based out of Leeds, UK the members come from all over the world, Canada, Iceland & New Zealand. In July 2010 Cities Between Us began work on their debut album with British producer Matt Hyde who has worked with artists such as Trivium, As I Lay Dying, Bullet for my Valentine, & Slipknot. The album is being recorded over 2 sessions and is due for release in 2011.

BE:Cause Industries is very please to announce that we've partnered with HOPE ATLANTIC to help them release their new EP "Mercy Street Choir".The 5 song EP was recorded with John Paul Peters at Private Ear Studios.

The West End Cultural Centre in Winnipeg was full of peeps ready to party on Saturday September 18th for the CD Release show! Hope Atlantic shared the stage with Fame, The Afterbeat and Kids on Fire. If you weren't there you missed a good one! Pictures from the show will be posted in the coming days!

The EP is now available on I Tunes and will be in stores in Winnipeg as well as the BE:Cause & Hope Atlantic webstores very soon! A Vinyl version of the EP is being manufactured as I type this! Keep your eyes on the BE:Cause Blog for more info on that!

Call/Response is a book about live music and youth culture in Winnipeg. It is being produced in support of one of Canada's most vital resources - Kids Help Phone. Call/Response will not only show us the musicians, but will feature the energy of the young crowds that make for a great show. This book of art and literature will collaborate works by local photographers, writers, visual artists, and collectors inspired by the Winnipeg music scene. Submissions are open to the public.

North by NorthEast 2010 in Toronto,Ont.. Nothing better than wakin up at 4am to fly to Toronto to play a show later that night at 2am. But what a f#$%*! show! Holy moley. We played right on the cusp of sketchy downtown Toronto at this cool little bar called Harlem. The folks organizing the NXNE showcase originally decided that we didn’t need live instruments and that we could just use turntables like all the other hip hoppers. After I tore my hair out for about 5 hours the issue got resolved and we ended up with some half decent instruments to play...

S4C is MOVING TO THE GARRICK/EDGE SKATEPARK!!!

Due to unforseen circumstances IE: The forecasted torrential downpour/thunderstorm & the fact that due to uncertainty of the weather we couldn't guarantee a sunny day tomorrow, the company supplying our sound system for the Skatepark had to pull out of the event. SO...

SATURDAY'S SKATE4CANCER EVENT IS BEING MOVED INDOORS. The music portion will take place at the GARRICK THEATRE (330 Garry)and the Skateboard contest will take place at THE EDGE SKATEPARK (125 Pacific Avenue).

The bands will start at noon and run till about 8:30/9pm.

The Skate Contest will start at 2pm and go for a few hours.

NOw I know this is not ideal, but we figured this was better than canceling and we're still hoping everyone comes out to have a great time and support Skate4Cancer.

PLEASE PASS THE WORD ON as this is super last minute, we need to get the owrd of mouth as far as we can as fast as we can! thanks

This Saturday, MAY 29th, the fun starts at NOON at the Forks Plaza Skate Park! The bands start right at NOON and the Skate Contest starts at 2pm! We've got all kinds of prizes to give away as well as medals for the Skate Contest winners!

Doors open for The Afterparty at 9pm at the Pyramid! Its 18+ and tickets are on sale now at Into the Music, Music Trader, SK8 & TUB! There will be Tickets at the door as well!

Also we will be having a Silent auction including all kinds of swag from our sponsors (SK8, Mixtape, TUB, Element, Circa, Lrg, Flip & ES), 2 Blackberry Curves, a Skateboard autographed by members of Green Day, Billy Talent, Alexisonfire & Cancer Bats, as well as Custom Painted Decks by Dan Smith, Adam Foreman & Nate Fierro of High Voltage Tattoo & the LA INK tv show.
